    Testimonials

Our home had water in the basement and problems with cracking sheet rock. We had multiple foundation contractors give us bids in repairing and fixing our foundation. All wanting to go with push piers. Absolute foundation repair suggested soil sampling before moving forward. So glad we had the sampling done. It showed we had heaving soil’s and push peers wasn’t the solution. This saved us thousands of dollars as we were able to fix our home on our own. Dusty helped us by loaning us needed equipment to make some of the repairs. We appreciated his honesty and finding the best way to repair our home.

What a remarkable company! The professionals at Absolute Foundation Repair were able to diagnose not only the problem with my foundation but also problems with both my plumbing and HVAC systems (problems three different plumbers mis-diagnosed). These gentlemen really know their stuff! They were prompt, efficient, courteous, thorough, and honest. I wouldn’t dream of hiring a different team of foundation specialists. I immediately put them on my list of go-to repair professionals, and you should too!

We have a beautiful new home that has had some settling issues. Dusty, Dace, and Josh have helped us through this process, one step at a time. They were willing to drive a pier to give us an idea of how far down bedrock was. This helped us know we were on target with approximate depths. Dusty talked with us about options and helped us stay within our budget. Josh and Dace were considerate during the time our family was home. They kept spaces clean and worked hard. I would definitely recommend absolute foundation repair!

Absolute helped us with a 7 inch lift and stabilization on a home with a full basement. We had a wet winter and spring. They were able to be resourceful and continue working throughout the bad weather. This home had settled because of bad drainage. They were able to come up with a plan to excavate and re-design the landscaping so water will no longer end up around the house.

    EZ Executive | March-April 2019

Absolute foundation repair has helped us with three unique projects. Each with specific challenges. The first home they helped us with was in bad shape. It required a 9 inch lift and had lots of interior damage. They did the lift and brought the house back to where it needed to be. They also did a massive excavation to help with surface drainage and slope Stabilization. Happy we were able to work with absolute to save this beautiful home.

Originally we hired another foundation contractor, only to find out the warranty they offered wasn’t any good. Absolute helped us lift a home after dealing with a difficult situation. They help us stay in our original budget and reasonable timeline. They always finish the last detail as new concrete is poured and finished after piers are placed and the home is lifted.

    Foundation Repair Salt Lake City

The Most Common Types of Foundation Repair

Foundation damage is a problem that can rapidly spread throughout a house and cause a myriad of damage that is hard to control. Thankfully, the best foundation repair in Salt Lake City, Utah can help. By reaching out to us at Absolute Foundation Repair, you can get the high-quality maintenance that your home needs at a price that you can easily afford. Even better, we can provide a myriad of other benefits that make us one of the best options for your needs when your foundation starts to crack.

Helical Piers – Good for Interior and Exterior Repairs

The first kind of foundation repair you’re likely to see is helical piers. These are typically the most versatile option on the market, but they aren’t used as often as they should be by most professionals. Usually, they work very well for new construction processes and help to support light-load areas, including various types of porches or spots in a home that don’t have a lot of hefty weight weighing them down and making them tougher to support.

As a result, they may not be an excellent choice for a home-wide repair but do provide benefits. For example, they are often cheaper than other types of options. And in some cases, they are also easier to install and repair. Therefore, it is critical to consider this type of support system for your home, particularly in areas that may have weaker spots or cracks in the foundation that need to be repaired quickly and efficiently with minimal fuss.

Steel Piers – A Revolutionary Method

The methods used to repair foundations were often quite complex or hard to manage before the introduction of steel piers. Once this option became available, homeowners found that they could fix their houses much more comfortably and create a foundation that was stronger than ever. As a result, you’re likely to see a lot of professionals turning to steel. They are a lot stronger than concrete piers and take up less room due to their denser strength and material capability.

That said, there are a few situations in which they might not be right for you. Typically, steel piers take up a little more time to install because they are more technical. They also require more research and data to get them into a home’s foundation properly. That said, their support strength is so high, partially because of this data-driven process, that they are one of the best ways to repair a foundation and keep it as secure as possible for the coming months and years ahead.

Concrete Piers – A Quick and Efficient Method

Concrete support piers were some of the earliest repair methods created for foundations. That’s because most foundations are already concrete, so it makes sense to use this material for their repair. Typically, this method requires a lot of soil displacement but works by finding damaged areas of a foundation and providing extra support. In this way, a homeowner’s foundation is a lot less likely to crack and won’t run into as many problems in the future.

As mentioned before, this method is not as strong as steel and often requires using drilling rigs to place a myriad of piers in a person’s yard. As a result, they are often the most expensive types, and they will do a number on your yard by removing a high concentration of dirt and soil. However, their strength and their efficiency do make them a good choice. In many cases, you may find that some foundation repair experts are better at installing this option than others.

Polyurethane Foam – A Simpler Repair Method

If a complete pier-replacement method doesn’t seem like a good idea for your home – or if you want a more straightforward and faster technique for fixing your foundation – polyurethane foam may be a good idea. This method utilizes an injection method that infiltrates the cracks, helps to fill them up, and provides extra support that ensures that they are as secure as possible for your home’s needs.

The only problem with this technique is when foam ends up in an HVAC system. This problem occurs if homeowners get this technique on a home that has ducts running through their floor. When it happens, clogs and other issues will spread throughout a home. And while this method is quite reliable, some may find that it doesn’t support their home as much as they would like it to.

Spot Piers – Piers That Don’t Take Long to Install

Although piers are a reliable way to handle foundation repair, many people may not be willing to pay so much or spend as much time on them. Thankfully, there are more budget-friendly options. These are nowhere near as good as full piers but do have benefits. For example, segmented piers are low in price and don’t take a lot of time to install compared to other products on the market.

Likewise, spot piers are more shallow and hand-dug piers that fill with concrete to provide a high level of overall support. They are better than segmented piers because they are designed to be stronger and provide a higher level of total protection. That said, they should be used with light-load areas because they don’t have quite the same level of support as other types of foundation piers.
